Testimonials

"To the very special people at Iowa Hospice: We all want to thank you very much for being the greatest help when our loved one was in Mitchell Village. When Iowa Hospice was there, I knew he was getting better care than the staff was able to give when there were so many residents. The day when the care center called and told us to come, it was a great relief to have you there to help his death happen easier. Hospice and the nurses gave him medication so he wouldn't suffer. Also drinks were served. The chaplain was there. It made things easier during our loss."

"All I can say is the Hospice team was outstanding, very caring, and good to my Mother."

"Iowa Hospice empowered my mother to transition from this life into the next with dignity and comfort. I want to express my sincere appreciation for all the attention and services Hospice provided during that period. In addition to everything you did for my mother, you also took care of me."

"Hospice is an amazing organization with staff that goes above and beyond. We, as a family, can't explain how much everyone has helped in our mother's end -of -life care. She was very special and your staff always let her know that."

"When we first contacted hospice in early September, my mother was still ambulatory and receiving chemotherapy. We had no idea what the next few months would bring, as her first breast cancer had been diagnosed 29 years earlier. Some felt that contacting hospice was premature but reading the web site and answering the questions about when a person is ready for hospice caused me to place the call. My mother seemed relieved to have someone checking on her at home. By early October, she was hospitalized for complications and received hospice care in Jefferson for the last few days of her life. The hospice staff was wonderful!! My advice to other families is not to wait too long before giving hospice a call. Thank you for everything."

"The staff of Iowa Hospice was all so wonderful. I don't know how mom and I would have gone through this without their support. They are the angels of mercy."

"Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for all the help, support and love mom and I received. Mom just enjoyed your visits so much and always looked forward to seeing each one of you."

"I would not have wanted to go through this without Hospice. They provided excellent, loving and knowledgeable care to our precious mother and to me and my five siblings. I only wish I had known of Hospice or had the availability of it when my father spent a year in a nursing home and then died in May of 1982."

Thank you so much for all of your help and caring. Because of you, my mom was able to die at home with dignity, which is what she wanted. Again, thank you so much."

"The care and comfort that you afforded our mother during her last few weeks was not only reassuring to her, but to her family. When faced with such a challenge as the end of life, it was, and remains, comforting to know that someone is there solely for the patient and her family. Keep up the good work. The services you offer are the best."

"In the short time that we had Hospice, they were professional and caring. I am glad they were there to fill in what would have otherwise been some empty spaces. We appreciated the sympathy expressed by all."

"My family was so pleased with Iowa Hospice. The all were loving and kind. It was wonderful to have them with us.
Thank you."

"There is no way I can thank you enough for being so kind to my Mom and for keeping in close touch with me when I couldn’t be there. She had a wonderful life and you made the end of her life warm and peaceful. Thank you."

"Jane McCurdy was so kind and so up-beat with Mother. She really made her last days special. Even painted her nails and brought her own jewelry for Mom to wear. She also gave her whirlpool baths that really helped her a lot. God bless you all, you did a great job!"

"We cannot thank you all enough for the care, the love, the witnessing and comfort you gave to our Mother and to us. We cannot say enough and we appreciate it so much. You are all angels and are truly the hands and feet of Jesus doing good works and healing as Jesus did. Thanks again and God bless!"

"I want to let you know how much Vicky Taylor meant to us. She was our special Angel. Please let her know how much we appreciated her and let you know how fortunate you are to have her as an associate. Tracie Voss was also so wonderful in helping comfort our family through this extremely difficult time. Thank you!"

"I could not ask for a more caring group of women to go through this with. I will recommend Iowa Hospice to everyone. Lisa Griffith, RN, was a wonderful gift to Mother and I."

"Sherri Teeples was just great for the job she has, can’t say enough good things about her."

"Thank you so much for being here for our loved one when he needed it, and also for myself. We will never forget you."
